Week 2 of the big final push against cuts at Glasgow University

Events taking place here at the Free Hetherington are below an
update on the anticuts campaign.

For the past couple of weeks we at the Free Hetherington have been
busy with the final push in the campaign to stop the destructive
short-sighted cuts here at Glasgow University.  The Court will make
the final decision on 22nd June and we are organising a demonstration
starting at 12 noon in University Gardens, so please write that in
your diary.  More details here

We had a successful day at the West End Festival with an incredibly positive response, especially for our ‘Cut Cakes not Courses’ raffle.

A quick summary of the events taking place this week:

Tuesday – ‘Cut Cakes not Courses’ – 12pm – free cake outside Glasgow
University main gate  – please get in touch if you can help bake or
man the stall.
Wednesday – ‘Clowns for Cuts’  – 1pm – Media/Publicity event – We’ll
be dressing up as clowns and making fun of Muscatelli and his cuts.
There is a clowning workshop on Tuesday from 1-5 to prepare for this
event. Please also get in touch if you can help with publicity or
props – placards are very welcome!
Thursday  – Cross department meeting – 5pm – This is when we’ll be
co-ordinating the campaign running up to the 22nd – please attend if
possible

We’re really pleased at how well the campaign is going – currently
we’re trying to build up to the demonstration and get as many people
there as possible – please invite all your friends (the facebook event
is here – http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=150627575005297 )

We also appreciate any help with media / publicity / placard-making –
please get in touch if you can lend a hand.
